About Exeter

Moderately deep, moderately well drained soils formed in alluvium from granitic rock sources with a strongly cemented duripan subsoil. Found on low terraces and fan remnants, slopes of 0 to 2 percent.

K-factor values are sourced from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) SSURGO database.

California Distribution

Extensive on the older alluvial fans of Tulare, Fresno, and Kings counties. Named for the city of Exeter in Tulare County. The duripan restricts drainage and root penetration; citrus groves have historically used deep ripping.
