About Oxalis

Deep, well drained soils formed in colluvium and residuum derived from sandstone and siltstone under a udic moisture regime. Found on steep coastal slopes and ridges with slopes of 30 to 75 percent and high annual rainfall.

K-factor values are sourced from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) SSURGO database.

California Distribution

Characteristic of the wet coastal forests of Del Norte County, supporting old-growth redwood and Douglas-fir. High rainfall and steep slopes make these soils susceptible to mass movement and surface erosion.
