About Winnedumah
Deep, somewhat excessively drained soils formed in alluvium and eolian deposits derived from granitic and mixed rock sources in a thermic/aridic environment. Very low organic matter; often saline-sodic in lower horizons. Found on alluvial plains and desert flats.
K-factor values are sourced from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) SSURGO database.
California Distribution
Occurs in the arid eastern basins of Inyo and Mono counties, particularly around Owens Lake and similar playas. Extremely prone to wind erosion (dust storms); the dry Owens Lake bed is one of the largest sources of PM10 dust in the United States.
